Amie DeHarpporte, PsyD, LP

Psychologist & Co-Owner

She/her

 

Dr. DeHarpporte is a licensed psychologist in Minnesota. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and Minnesota Psychological Association (MPA).  

 

Dr. DeHarpporte has advanced training in school neuropsychology and will soon be eligible to become board certified as a Diplomate of School Neuropsychology. She has a wealth of experience in treating children of all ages, specializing in high school and college students and young adults.  

  

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from Carleton College 

  • Master’s degree in Education Policy from Harvard University 

  • Master’s degree in Counseling from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota  

  • Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota 

 

For her doctoral dissertation, Dr. DeHarpporte developed and evaluated a training for teachers about the trauma-informed classroom, and her master’s thesis examined how to distinguish diagnostically between ADHD and trauma.

Dr. DeHarpporte is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Psychology program at Saint Mary’s University, teaching developmental psychology. Before entering the mental health field, she was a classroom teacher for 12 years. She also founded and directed an academic enrichment program and trained new teachers in effective instruction.

 

Dr. DeHarpporte is the parent of four children and an adoptive parent. She enjoys hiking, reading, knitting, and spending time with her family and dogs. Her favorite place is the Boundary Waters.
